Weston Cultural Council Presents an Edible Wild Plants Tour

Presenter: John Root, Naturalist and Educator
Fee: Free. All ages welcome.

Meet naturalist John Root and talk a nature walk focusing on our most appealing native and introduced plants. Wild food samples will be offered, and pamphlets will be distributed to participants. Free, all ages welcome.

Concerts on Weston Town Green Summer ‘09

Concerts on the Town Green
Wednesdays at  7:00 p.m.

July 22 – Tom Nutile Big Band
Come enjoy the sounds of Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Artie Shaw as well as some of the more modern sounds of today’s jazz.

July 29 – Alter Ego
Harmony laden contemporary folk, alt country, rock and pop.  Alter Ego is a seven member group from the Boston area featuring strong vocals and good musicianship.  The music is a mix of covers and originals.  Good listening and dancing music enjoyable for all ages.

August 5 – Steve Taddeo and His Swing Band
This is a foot stompin’ band playing tunes made famous by Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and Gene Krupa fro the Swing Big Band Era.

August 12 – John Penny Band
The John Penny Band is a five piece country band with two guitars, bass, drum and sometimes a fiddle.  Their repertoire consists of traditional and contemporary country music, plus some pop standards and some oldies.

Case Estates Informational and Public Input Meeting RESCHEDULED to July 8, 7 to 9 p.m., Town Hall

The meeting originally planned for July 9 to continue discussion of Harvard’s cleanup of contaminated soil on the Case Estates has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 8 from 7-9 p.m., Town Hall.

Any questions or concerns related to these meetings or the cleanup process can be sent to the Board of Selectmen at selectmen@westonmass.org.
